WELCOME TO TESTINOLAND
Sofia Testino is a fashion label based in New York, built around uniforms, characters, and the imagined world of Testinoland. Founded by Central Saint Martins graduate Sofia Testino, the label draws on her fascination with strangers, professions and the way clothing can communicate a person’s identity before anything is known about them.
Living and working in Tokyo introduced Testino to the specificity of Japanese workwear and the character carried by even the most functional garments. Her collections reimagine familiar uniforms as ready-to-wear, elevating professions that are often overlooked through precise construction, unexpected materials and humour.
Functional details are distorted and transformed. Zips create multiple ways of wearing a garment, pockets become sculptural, and tools and occupational objects are reinterpreted as trims, prints and embellishments. Each piece begins with a character and the world they inhabit, but is designed to exist beyond its original role.
Garments are produced in New York, with footwear made in Italy. Through skilled craftsmanship and narrative design, each collection expands Testinoland through new characters, professions, symbols, and objects.
